What does a website or web app cost?
A page change or a small fix starts at $50. A marketing site is quoted as one fixed price after a free call, and a web app with logins, a database and billing costs more because there is more to get right.
The written plan says what is included and what is not, so the price does not grow in the middle.
Will it be fast?
I run a speed and search check before launch and fix what it finds: image sizes, fonts, scripts, the paint order. Slow sites lose enquiries on a phone, and most of the world is on a phone.
If you already have a site, I can tell you what is slowing it down before you decide to rebuild anything.
Can you work with what I already have?
Usually yes. I have added to shop platforms, taken over hosting, connected an existing database and finished work another developer started.
If the honest answer is that the current setup is the problem, I will say that too and explain what it would cost to keep versus replace.
Do I need a website, a web app or a SaaS product?
A website brings people in. A web app is where they do something. A SaaS product is a web app you charge a subscription for, and it needs billing, accounts and an admin view from day one.
| What you want | A website | A web app or SaaS product |
|---|---|---|
| People to find you on Google and enquire | Yes | Overkill |
| Customers to log in and see their own data | No | Yes |
| To charge a monthly subscription | No | Yes |
| Your team to work in it every day | No | Yes, or an internal tool |
| A sensible first version | A few pages, a form, your prices | Sign-up, billing and one workflow done well |
Do you also build desktop apps?
Yes. Often the best desktop app is the installable kind: the same codebase as the web app, opened in its own window on Windows or macOS, pinned to the dock or taskbar, and working offline where the job needs it.
When the work needs a native build, because it talks to hardware or chews through large local files all day, I build that too. The written plan says which kind you are paying for before anything starts.
